Education at Dover Mu#DCD7F

Dover Museum is the ideal location for a school or educational group visit.

We offer a wide range of cross-curricular workshops for Key Stage 1, 2 & 3 pupils throughout the school year. These fit in with the National History Curriculum requirements and QCA schemes of work. Workshops and talks are hosted in our dedicated education room and in the museum galleries.

For older pupils, the museum can provide a range of specialist talks - further details of these are available on request - museumenquiries@dover.gov.uk

To book a self-guided group or school visit please email VIC@dover.gov.uk

The Department for Education recommends the following ratios of staff/adult helpers for school visits:

  • 1 adult per 6 pupils in years 1-3
  • 1 adult per 10-15 pupils in years 4-6
  • 1 adult per 15-20 pupils in year 7 upwards

There is a well-stocked gift shop with a wide range of pocket money priced items including many with a historical theme, and a range of resources, books and posters suitable for classroom use.
